This mix contains every genre tag on this blog so it should be interesting, it marks the end of one era and the beginning of another, as mixes sometimes do. And i didn't make it for anyone once again but it definitely has people in mind, those that inspire, and those that cause pain.. and then the ones that do both.

OK if there were ever videos you should watch on my blog it would be these right here. Staff Benda Bilili is a group of street musicians in the Congo who have been handicapped by Polio and for 4 years they have been making some of the most incredible music as well as choreographing their own dance moves. They recruited a 17 year old boy to play a crazy one string guitar and carry on their legacy because they are going to die soon. Finally somebody has decided to make a movie about them, enabling them to travel and tour in Europe and hopefully other parts of the world.

Here is the trailer for the movie coming up, depicting the impoverished conditions of Congo and their contrasting positivity.


This song right here is perhaps their most beautiful but I have included the subtitled version to help you understand what these people are really going through. Watch it at your own discretion, I personally can't watch it without crying profusely but I have done so every morning and am somewhat enlightened by it. non subtitled version.

i like it more than my other mixes because i didn't have anyone in mind while making it. and i am so happy i found the link wray cd i thought only existed on vinyl so there's a little overdose of that as well as 100dbs overdose because its better than all the other hip hop out there at the moment; plus if you listen to all nine minutes of track 4 you get a special surprise somewhere near the end. pure nostalgia, and a tribute to all music !!
